On second thought, dogs really are our whole life here at Boyar Kennels.
What started as our family's love for our own Labrador 20 years ago has evolved into our life's passion. Our Black, Chocolate, and Yellow Labradors continue to be a part of our family, as they are bred and cared for in our own home.
We are located in beautiful rural Bethany, Connecticut, a small town outside of New Haven dedicated to maintaining nature over development. Boyar Kennels is the ideal place to raise and breed Labradors. Our Labs get plenty of fresh air and play time in our big yard, and an abundance of trails in the surrounding woods make for enjoyable exercise during our afternoon hikes.

At Boyar Kennels, our Labradors are bred to be show potential puppies and hunting companions. Through years of research, hard work, and the finest pedigree bloodlines, we have gained plenty of experience with breeding for both field and show. We strongly believe in tradition and our quality bloodlines, stemming from West German and Hungarian German Shepards for over two decades. Additionally, we have Black, Chocolate, and Yellow Labrador Retrievers that come from sound, quality English bloodlines for over 13 years.
But most importantly, our mission is to offer superior quality Labradors for families. Unlike other breeders who are only interested in breeding attractive show dogs that end up in the pound because their owners cannot control them, we are dedicated to raising and breeding Labradors for Temperament, Intelligence, and Conformation as well as stunning appearance.

Ours puppies are a part of our family from birth until the day they join your family. Each puppy is welcomed into this world with our love and adoration. They are raised from birth to socialize with children and adults. Our pups become accustomed to being around our family and other dogs, which helps nurture great temperament from the earliest age.
Of course, a healthy puppy is a happy puppy (and a happy family). All of our Labradors are AKC registered, have had a Penn hip check, have their eyes checked yearly and have no signs of PRS problems.
